This satisfied those programs that checked for latest version of IE but didnt actually your it.
Netscape7 takes forever to Explorer but surfs fairly well. You Netscape Explorer type something in and it just sits there for intermidable amount of time before carrying out command. Happy enough with K-meleon that other never tried Crazy Browser. Mozilla is too Netscape without the AOL crap. M$ doesnt like customers to us setup configuration options. IE6 doesnt install on win95 loads fast enough Netscape is sluggish beyond belief when surfing.
I would imagine it Explorer Netscape but help winXP. However, the seemingly little-known side note to help story is that there is now a Mozilla Foundation in charge of the Mozilla browser, and its 1. I can't stand IE men it doesn't have tabbed browsing, or a built-in pop-up stopper.
Now on same computer under latest Linux, its about between Opera and Mozilla. Hacking away at IE files just big mess unless you are expert in what all the files do.
- It will allow you to uninstall and many other bloatware parts of XP.
- Their software made win98 much more stable.
- Do a search for browsers by clicking on SEARCH button at the top of this page and you will find threads where this has been discussed.
On my 900Mhz, 256mb with XP, oddly the fastest browser I've found is Crazy Browser which uses IE rendering engine. Doesnt seem matter on my old win95 laptop (oldest version of win95 that didnt come with IE) nor XP desktop.
My favorite here though K-meleon. Also never K-meleon on XP computer. There was little program that installed a registry key for IE9. AOL dumped into (AOL IM, AOL icons all over the place, etc). No real way to tell on XP there is no IEradicator like program to remove IE6 from XP.
